Psychological Assessment
The goal of psychological assessment is to describe important characteristics of personality and to determine if the patient is suffering from psychopathology (psychological problems). In turn, this detailed information can be used to obtain the best possible care for the patient. Psychological evaluation can also provide the patient’s treating professionals with assistance in adapting their programs, goals, and treatment for that specific patient. Evaluation is also valuable for tracking progress during rehabilitation.
